James D. Elliott Ⅲ, OD

Optometric Physician

Dr. James Elliott, OD is a Charleston native who graduated from the College of Charleston in 1991 with a BS in psychology and earned a second degree in physics in 1992. He conducted research in the cell biology department at the Medical University of South Carolina for 2 years before attending optometry school at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. 

In the spring of 1999, he graduated with honors and joined his uncle’s practice as a partner. He is a past president of the Coastal Carolina Optometric Society and is a member of both the South Carolina Optometric Physicians and American Optometric Associations. 

Currently, Dr. Elliott serves as a captain in the US Army Medical Reserve Corps. He is excited to now be a part of the award-winning team at Carolina Eyecare Physicians.
