Kenneth Sawyer, OD

Optometric Physician

Dr. Sawyer is an optometric physician at Carolina Eyecare Physicians with over 20 years’ experience in surgical refractive eyecare. Having grown up in Charleston, Dr. Sawyer has always had an affinity for the area and is excited to have returned to the Lowcountry. Dr. Sawyer obtained his optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with Honors. He was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and served as President his Junior year. His final six months of education were spent with Commonwealth Eye Surgery in Lexington, KY, one of the busiest surgical co-management practices in Kentucky, led by Dr. Lance Ferguson and Dr. Howell Findley.

Dr. Sawyer has extensive experience in pre- and post-operative refractive eyecare, including intraocular implant planning and management. Having managed thousands of pre- and post-operative LASIK refractive surgery patients, Dr. Sawyer is experienced and passionate about providing outstanding care to the patients of Carolina Eye Physicians.

Dr. Sawyer will be seeing patients in our Mt. Pleasant location.

    I needed a cataract evaluation and was referred to Dr Hunter. Everything about my experience was great! They got me in quickly and once there, everyone was kind, helpful, and efficient. Dr Hunter patiently explained all the options to me and his surgery coordinator answered all of my questions. They are a lovely group of medical professionals and I highly recommend them.

    I had surgery on my eye two months ago. My vision was bad because I had a hole in my macular. Dr Brugger repaired it. The surgery went well and my vision has greatly improved. I am great full to him and his staff at Carolina Eyecare. Their knowledge and professionalism was for my benefit.
