Clear Vision After Cataracts
Cataracts can cause vision problems. Although a cataract typically develops slowly, it can affect a person’s ability to complete everyday tasks, like reading and driving. Some vision challenges caused by cataracts can’t be corrected with eyeglasses or contact lenses.
For more than 30 years, the pioneering surgeons at Carolina Eyecare Physicians have helped set the standard in cataract and lens replacement surgery. Our tradition of eye care excellence continues with our investment in Laser Cataract Surgery, a medical innovation perfectly suited for the unique complexities of the human eye.

Laser Cataract Surgery
Laser Cataract Surgery is a fully customizable, precise solution for restoring your clearest possible vision. This pre-planned outpatient procedure offers predictability and convenience.
What Is a Cataract?
If your vision is getting cloudy, you’re losing your color perception, or if you’re having trouble reading or driving at night; you may be developing cataracts.
A cataract is the natural lens inside the eye that is normally transparent in our youth. As we age, our clear lenses inevitably become cloudy, resulting in a cataract. Cataracts are a normal part of the aging process and can develop slowly. However, as the cataract matures, the cloudiness increases, resulting in significant loss of sight and even blindness.
What Are the Benefits of Laser Cataract Surgery?
Laser cataract surgery represents a revolutionary advancement in cataract surgery that significantly improves the precision of several of the most critical steps in cataract surgery, offering our patients a laser-precise alternative to manual cataract surgery.
With Laser cataract surgery, the surgeons at Carolina Eyecare Physicians will customize the procedure to your eye’s unique structure, resulting in better visual outcomes with greater patient safety.
Is Laser Cataract Surgery Right for You?
Our laser treatment for cataracts offers both the traditional manual technique and laser cataract surgery with the LenSx femtosecond laser. By combining laser cataract surgery with the advanced IOLs that we offer, our patients are having their vision restored to a more youthful state.
This means you will have the greatest likelihood for improved vision at all distances so you can read to your grandchildren, play cards with your friends, and enjoy all your favorite activities like golfing, swimming, sewing and tennis, without the inconvenience of glasses!
Your Treatment Options
Carolina Eyecare Physicians offers a range of treatment options to suit your vision goals. Your eyes are unique. Based on the distinctive anatomy of your eyes, we will work with you to help you achieve your personal best vision.
While no two patients are the same, our surgeons will evaluate your eyes to determine if you are a candidate for laser cataract surgery, assess your desired visual outcome, and help you decide which cataract treatment option will most likely help you achieve your vision goals.
Your Vision Options
Our laser cataract surgery in North Charleston offers three Vision Options: Advanced Vision, Custom Vision, and Basic Vision. Your surgeon may also use a combination of these treatments and lens implants.

RXSight™ Light Adjustable Lens
With the Light Adjustable Lens, you will have the unique opportunity to adjust and preview your vision until it meets your personal desires and lifestyle requirements. This optimization is done by your eye doctor after lens implantation through a series of light treatment procedures that take only a few minutes each session.
RXSIGHT™ LIGHT ADJUSTABLE LENS
Carolina Eyecare Physicians now offers the Light Adjustable Lens, a new addition to our premium lens technology. The Light Adjustable Lens allows your surgeon to continue customizing your vision after your cataract surgery, allowing your eyes time to heal and adjust before locking in your personal best vision. This post-surgical adjustment is performed in the office through a series of brief, painless light treatment procedures. Typically reserved for patients who have had previous laser or corneal surgery, this technology is available in select markets. Ask your surgeon if the Light Adjustable Lens is right for you.
